Once again we have been able to donate a sizeable amount of money from our 2016 shows at Lackham in July and at Stratford upon Avon in August and October to charities.
This has already included £300 to the Six-Ex Mini Club, who organise the car parking at Lackham and who raise money for the SW Children's Hospice, and help for a group of students from Hardenhuish School who were taking a show to Edinburgh in August.
At our recent AGM, members of Shakespeare Live voted on a list of proposed charities, and we will be giving substantial amounts to Swift Medics and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. A donation of £100 was also agreed to London-based charity Theatre for a Change, who use
theatre techniques to change attitudes towards women in Malawi and Ghana.
Here is Gill Morrell of Shakespeare Live, pictured handing over the cheque to Patrick Young, Executive Director of TfaC.
