Shakespeare Live members know that whenever our funds allow we are delighted to be able to make donations to charities from the proceeds of our shows. So it was with great pleasure that we started the rehearsal period for this year's show by presenting a cheque for £500 to Wiltshire's Bobby Van Trust, a donation agreed by the membership from the proceeds of last year's successful production of Macbeth.
The Bobby Van provides invaluable practical assistance to elderly and vulnerable victims of crime
in Wiltshire. Jennie Shaw and Zahra Joshan, pictured here accepting the cheque from Shakespeare Live chairman, Rod Moor-Bardell, thanked the group for their very generous donation and
emphasised just how significant it will be in helping with their work.
This donation, together with a further £250 given to Theatre for a Change to support their work in health and education in Malawi, adds a little more to the thousands of pounds we have been able to give to local and national charities over our 27 year history of open-air Shakespeare performances.
