Although the rehearsal period may have been dogged by rain and wind, up to and including our dress rehearsal day, the performance week was fantastic, the sun came out and our production of The Taming of the Shrew was anything but soggy!
“Fast paced and bursting with energy” said the Bath Chronicle’s review and the enthusiastic and vocal response from our audiences suggests that they would agree, as do the many complimentary emails and messages we have received since.
Directed with flair and creativity by Pat Cannings, this Shrew gave us a rebellious suffragette Kate and a maverick soldier Petruchio. Harriet Bridger and Chris Constantine in the lead roles were supported by a large and impressive cast making the very most of the anarchic humour the play has to offer.
With songs and an impressive march from the suffragettes, a fantastically funny wedding, the laughter and applause of the audience scarcely died away.
